Movie websites are nothing new but this one interested me because it utilizes the holy grail of viral marketing, User Generated Content. Done the right way, UGC can really make a site successful. Or it can be a bucket of money dropped on a fancy flash interface for nothing. I’m not going to build up the suspense here, I loved Knocked Up Baby Maker.

This site allows anyone to upload any two pictures and mix facial elements from both to “see” what their baby would look like. The above was found searching through the “baby album”. I love it.
User generated content can yield some of the most interesting results. It is an integral part to the success of the internet, web 2.0, and virtual community building. We see amazing examples of it all the time: Post Secret, Second Life, You Tube, list goes on and on. Done the right way, UGC can give a campaign the edge in an overly saturated marketplace.
I applaud the the marketing team behind this one. It’s hilarious and tons of fun.
